William Carey Christian School has a dedicated bus bay that services eleven morning buses and thirteen afternoon buses. Students are supervised when alighting from buses each morning after 8:20am – all students are supervised after 8:00am in either the Primary Quad or High School Quad.
In the afternoon, teachers take Primary students to either bus lines or car lines. High School teachers ensure that classes always finish on time so that students never need to rush in order to reach the buses before they depart.
For safety reasons, Primary students are instructed to remain seated in the correct bus line and are only permitted to stand after their bus has safely stopped at the curb. A teacher on duty then lines the Primary students up in two lines and a senior student will then take them on to the bus. Primary students are given priority seating and are instructed to sit in the nearest available seat. For young and new Primary students, the school is happy to arrange an older bus buddy who is willing to ensure that the less confident student gets on the correct bus and exits at the correct stop.
Any reported incidents on buses are actively pursued. William Carey Christian School has a reputation amongst bus drivers as having very settled passengers, who care for each other and the bus.
